Viraj Mithani is a contemporary artist and educator. His practice floats between painting and print. They are morphed with dichotomies that include abstraction versus representation, traditional versus progressive, the epic versus the everyday, organic versus technological and are sporadically loaded with personal life anecdotes.
Mithani was invited to be Artist-in-Residence at Spudnik Press Co-operative in Chicago (2016), and Vermont Studio Center in Johnson. His has taught art at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School (Mumbai), School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Fulton Street Collective and at Chicago Public Library (Chicago).
Viraj has participated in multiple group shows. He currently lives and practices in Mumbai where he also leads and runs the Carpe Arte group.
