Sudheer Royal did his Bachelor in Visual Arts (B.Va) in painting at Hampi. He specializes in Kalamkari art. Kalamkari is a type of hand-painted or block-printed cotton textile produced in Isfahan, Iran, and in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. The Srikalahasti style of Kalamkari, where the "kalam" or pen is used for freehand drawing of the subject and filling in the colours, is entirely done by hand. He has participated in many art camps.
Sudheer has won the prestigious Mahatma Gandhi Memorable award in Chennai and the Andhra Pradesh State Award.
