Influenced by both French and Indian art, Sujata Bajaj uses a lot of vibrant colours, but balances the colours with the texture. She has worked with different art forms and media such as etching, wood, sculpture, murals, cold ceramic, fibre-glass, metal, mixed media and, more recently acrylic. Tribal art plays a major role in Sujata's work even today.

Important group exhibitions include The Power of Peace, Bali, 2007; The Ueno Royal Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo, 2007; The Journey, New York, 2008, as well as several art fairs all over the world. She has had several solo exhibitions in India, France, Norway and UK. Sujata Bajaj spends her time between Pune, Norway and Paris.
