Born in Keonjhar, Odisha. Sofaiya Yasmeen is a leading water colour artist. She has completed her BFA from Utkal University, Vanivihar. She also holds a masters’ degree in Bioinformatics. Sofaiya uses very fine skills and vivid colours to express her artistic idioms hence creating an excellent art environment. Her works primarily depict human relationships and social issues. Having spent a large part of her life in a tribal region, her art has been highly influenced by nature and tribal life.
Currently she is making a new series on obsolete products like antique lanterns, old damaged household materials which were once a common feature in every household and were used by villagers and farmers.
