Samir Mohanty did his M.F.A. in painting from Hyderabad Central University, 2012 and B.F.A. in painting from Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar, 2009. His work is about reminiscing the past, living in absence and to preserve time. He tries to bring forth a juxtaposition of the past with the present, thus prompting existential questioning and self-dialogue within the viewer.
He believes that vibrant colors are an expression of joy, whenever we are surrounded by nature its freshness calms us inside out. He tries to bring the traditional values and indigenousness to the front. He is interested in the psychological as well as physical world that makes us grow.
