The progression plot of Pankaj Bawdekar as a visual artist, since he obtained his degree at ÔThe L.S.Raheja School of Art, MumbaiÕ in 2004, to his current status quo of being an accomplished fine arts painter of repute is testimony of how he has gradually come to evolve to a certain elegance in his oeuvre. Having participated in a slew of group exhibitions, dotted with solos; with some major landmark ones among them, he has throughout displayed his individualistic flair with conviction. Through his works, his sense of aesthetics and expression comes across as direct and impactful at first glance, capturing the viewerÕs attention, and a closer look reveals the nuances of exquisite brush strokes, hues and tones and ushers us into a brilliantly created atmosphere of motifs. The ÔPooramÕ series is a case in point and is undoubtedly his Ôpiece de resistanceÕ hitherto, promising exhibitions on many more wonderful themes in the future. Among the honours presented for his remarkable artistry, the brace of Prafulla Dahanukar Foundation awards conferred upon him : for, the (Jehangir Sabavala Award for Best Stylized Landscape) 2016, and the Maharashtra state award, 2018, are indeed a feather in his cap.
