Pattachitra artist from Medinipur in Bengal, Laltu Chitrakar is the new generation of families that continue the tradition of Patua art. This form of art was created in the form of long scrolls, which were an artistic depiction of mythological tales; which they showcased at several villages through art and song.

The artist no longer wander or travel, and instead have adapted the scrolls to normal painting sizes and color. They have always painted narratives - from mythology, village life and events around the world, and they continue to do that as more and more of their art takes on the issues of life; i.e. the environment, politics, calamities. Works are done on paper that is backed with old saris. They have pioneered the neutral coloured paintings that are stunning and contemporary.
