Asit Kumar Patnaik

Born in Orissa, Asit Kumar Patnaik completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from Government College of Art and Crafts, Khalikote and Masters’ from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi.

Patnaik is a semi realistic painter with narratives which revolve around human psyche and interpersonal relationships in society. There is a certain sensitivity in his works, accentuated by his technique and choice of colours and textures. The deceptive simplicity of his lines adds to the sensuality of the robust figures. There is a sense of mystery as well as visual harmony in his paintings. He is the recipient of several awards.

Asit’s works have been exhibited in over 40 solo and group shows in India and abroad. He works find prominence in the collections of the President of India and several private collections. Patnaik currently resides and works from New Delhi.
