Arabinda Samanta, born in 1974 at Kolkata, received his formal education in art from the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta University. Inspired by Indian mythology, most of his paintings are a celebration of love and togetherness. The exhilaration, commitment and sanctity of eternity and divinity in the company of nature and rustic monumental arenas find a strategic place in SamantaÕs art. The artist is overwhelmed by his own innate devotion. The depiction of passionate scenes of gods and goddesses carved in stone at Konark, Khajuraho and other religious monuments across India has inspired him to paint a series on the theme. The artist has had several group and solo exhibitions in India and his works have been acquired for many private and corporate collections. Samanta is based in Mumbai and works from his studio in the city.
