Anjum Motiwala

With a background in Abstract Art and Fashion, the artworks of Anjum Motiwala are made with many distinct layers of texture and paint. Using a palette knife, oils and a thick impasto technique, she produces bold strokes that add strength to her abstracts, landscapes and cityscapes.

Inspired by nature that surrounds her, Anjum re-creates rhythm on canvas by building a “connection” between her language of abstraction and her perception of the subject. With a colour palette featuring dramatic reds, yellows, oranges and blues, the hues on her canvas have only gotten more buoyant over the years. Anjum has been showcasing her works for over a decade in India, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Dubai.
