Internationally recognised, Mumbai based Ananta Mandal’s paintings are created mostly in an impressionist manner and surrealist way in various mediums like watercolour, oil and acrylic. His individual style is deeply contemporary in its sensibilities. His paintings focus on realistic urban landscapes. He has participated in sixteen One Man shows and many invited group shows in India and abroad.
Ananta has bagged many awards including the First Place Award from 36th International Exhibition at the Watercolour Art Society, Houston, U.S.A., The Winsor & Newton Excellence Award from Northwest Watercolour Society, USA, Award for Best Landscape in Watercolour from The Bombay Art Society, Mumbai, in both 2006 and 2011. Ananta also makes experimental films based on paintings and video installations.
